Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have been officially elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) evening. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election.
“We would like to express our highest gratitude and appreciation to those who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election,” he said at a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Honor Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the TNI and Polri for ensuring that this year’s democracy festival ran orderly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we felt the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Maju Indonesia Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a great appreciation to the TNI-Polri for making the 2024 election very orderly, safe, and peaceful,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Maju Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which supported him, especially the chairmen and all members of the political parties involved. In addition, Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the National Campaign Team (TKN) and the supporting volunteers.
“We would like to thank and appreciate all the chairmen and all members of all parties in KIM, then TKN, the volunteers, the mothers who are present here (at Kertanegara IV residence),” said Prabowo.
Prabowo called on all the people of Indonesia to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst differences.
“We invite all the people of Indonesia to look forward together, unite, hold hands. We must harmonize, cooperate to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism again, if there are differences among us, it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, all the people’s choices must be respected,” he continued.
Finally, he emphasized that Prabowo-Gibran would be the president and vice president who would work as hard as possible for all the people of Indonesia. Prabowo said they would prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the people’s mandate is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all the people of Indonesia. For those who did not choose us, please give us a chance. We will prove to be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all the people of Indonesia,” he concluded.
